Product Description

Ask any top professional athlete and they will tell you that the battle for size and strength is not waged primarily with weights, but with a fork and spoon. The hardest part of any bodybuilder’s or athlete’s job is ingesting the massive number of calories needed to gain and maintain muscle mass. Even the most valiant effort in the gym will be a waste of time and energy without adequate high-quality nutrients to fuel the quest for size, power and speed.

Simply put, if you want to increase muscle mass, you must increase your caloric intake. Unfortunately, you can’t just eat everything and anything you want (as great as that would be). Noticeable increases in muscle and performance can only be achieved with increased consumption of high-quality nutrients.

And that’s where VPX Giant Gains® comes in. For all the talk about the benefits of chicken, fish and lean beef — fantastic, high-quality foods, to be sure — you’d be eating all the time to get the necessary calories if they were your only source of nutrition.

Well, VPX Giant Gains® has a whopping 1,000 calories per serving, including 52 grams of high-grade protein… but only 10 grams of sugar!

Yes, you read that right: Despite 1,000 calories per serving, VPX Giant Gains® contains just 10 grams of sugar! So, if you’re goal is to get swole, pick up a container of VPX Giant Gains® today!

Protein Whey

Most everybody knows about the benefits of protein: it’s one of the building blocks of muscles, as well as bones, cartilage, skin, blood — even hair. And whey protein, which comes from milk, is one of the most efficient ways to give your body what it craves. A study of 158 people, published in Nutrition & Metabolism, found that those who consumed whey protein “lost significantly more body fat and showed a greater preservation of lean muscle compared to subjects consuming the control beverage.”

However, what many people don’t know is that there are different types of whey protein, along with different grades — and those differences matter!

Here’s why.

First off, as noted above, not all whey proteins are created equal; they differ based on how they are processed. The most popular form of whey protein is concentrate, which is graded on a 30-60-90 scale, roughly translating to the percentage of protein the body is able to absorb per serving. This means a low-grade (30) protein advertising 40 grams of protein per serving — the kind found in so many other “high-protein” drinks — equates to roughly 12 grams of protein the body is actually able to utilize.

VPX Great Gains contains 52 grams of highly refined whey isolate protein — which is comprised of 90%+ protein per serving and features less lactose (even those who are lactose intolerant may be able to consume it) — along with whey concentrate, casein proteins and various other milk proteins. This is done to take advantage of the different digestion rates these proteins offer, with the goal being a steady infusion of protein into the muscles and connecting tissues.

What Is Maltodextrin?

Maltodextrin is a fast-digesting carbohydrate derived from corn, rice, potato starch or wheat that, despite a high glycemic (GI) index, contains less than 20% sugar. Since it is highly processed, it is also gluten-free, even when made from wheat.

Better still, because maltodextrin doesn’t take as much water to digest as certain carbohydrates, it’s a good way to get quick calories without becoming dehydrated. Some research indicates that maltodextrin can help maintain anaerobic power during exercise as well.

Is maltodextrin safe?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has deemed maltodextrin a Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) food additive “with no limitation other than current good manufacturing practice.”

What Is Waxy Maize Starch?

At one time, waxy maize was the preeminent high-carb additive in weight-gainer products, primarily because it was thought to be fast-acting. In truth, that is not the case — maltodextrin produces a far greater insulin spike — but that doesn’t mean waxy maize is not a worthwhile addition to your diet.

Its low glycemic index (GI) makes it the perfect supplement for those seeking additional carbohydrates — one that doesn’t create cravings for empty calories.

Is waxy maize safe?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined waxy maize to be a GRAS (see above) food additive.

MCT Oil Benefits

With the rising popularity of ketogenic diets (check out our Keto Coffee), interest in MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) has never been higher.

What are MCTs, you ask (if you didn’t, please just play along)?

Simply put, they are fats — like coconut oil — that are metabolized differently than the long-chain triglycerides (LCTs) that comprise the vast majority of fats in most people’s diets. MCTs are sent directly to the liver, where they are used instantly for energy or converted into ketones.

Your body uses ketones when you don’t have enough insulin in your body to turn glucose (sugar) into energy. However, there is some evidence to suggest that ketones by themselves aid in fat loss and may reduce hunger as well. And even in a weight-gainer, limiting fat is desirable, because the goal is to put on muscle, not fat.

So, if more muscle is the hustle, swole is the goal, size is the prize… OK, OK, we’ll quit… but be sure to get your container of VPX Giant Gains® today!
